The event was organized by the Indonesian National Shipowners Association (INSA), together with Pertamina International Shipping and Pelindo. HUMI’s presence at this prestigious event served as a strategic platform to showcase the Company’s strong commitment to a maritime industry that is concerned with sustainability issues.
“We are committed to making ESG and Sustainability the main foundation of the Company’s operations. We aim to become an ESG Leader in the shipping industry by 2029,” said Tirta Hidayat, President Director of HUMI.
Carrying the theme “Sustainability,” HUMI’s booth attracted many visitors with its informative decoration highlighting various Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) programs that have been and are currently being implemented by the Company. The information presented included HUMI’s efforts in environmental protection, contributions to the community, occupational health and safety programs, and the application of good corporate governance.
Many visitors came to HUMI’s booth during the three days of the exhibition, from various countries, professions, and age groups, who wanted to learn more about the Company’s business and ESG programs currently being run. In this event, through its subsidiary, PT MCS Internasional (MCSI), HUMI also held a job fair specifically for seafarers and migrant workers. This initiative was enthusiastically welcomed by job seekers, as shown by nearly 200 job applications received during the job fair. This indicates strong interest in career opportunities in the sustainable maritime sector.
The 1st Indonesia Maritime Week was also enlivened by conferences and sharing sessions featuring key figures in the maritime sector, both national and international, including Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez. The IMO Secretary-General even took the time to visit HUMI’s booth, demonstrating recognition of HUMI’s efforts and role in the shipping industry. On the second day, Director of MCS Internasional (MCSI), Johan Novitrian, also participated as one of the panel speakers in a discussion titled “Building a Resilient Maritime Workforce in Asia.”
